Today the Queer Zine Archive Project is officially 5 years old.  We first registered this site on 3 November, 2003.  If memory serves, we "officially" went live on the 5th of November, but really, what's a day or two among friends.

To see how we've evolved over the years, take a look at Archive.org's reference pages:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://qzap.org

In other QZAP news, we've just received 2 boxes of queer zines from the old Emma Center collection in Minneapolis, MN.  It will take us a while to go through them, but eventually we'll get them all online.  Speaking of, as of this writing, we've got 192 items in the archive, and more than 800 to still scan.  We've got a lot of work ahead of us, and are always thankful for your support.  Even if you can't send us zines of money, if you like what we're doing, shoot us an email and tell us.  Also, tell your friends, family, comrades, other queers, zinesters, and members of the press about our project.  The more, the merrier!

Also, Chris, one of the co-founders just got back from a two day exhibition of queer zines in New York City.  The curators of the exhibit put out a beautiful catalog that can be ordered from Printed Matter in NYC. (Printed Matter website is currently down.  We'll update this when it comes back)

Finally, two calls for submissions:

First is QZAP:Meta.  We're holding the submissions open for another month.  New deadline is December 15th.  See below for more information.

Second:  Punkin is trying to put together a queer punk directory.  Please click here for more information.
